Books and publications
When he is not drawing cartoons, Ewan moonlights as an accomplished author of educational and other publications. A selection of more recent outings (and a few not so recent ones) is shown. As will be apparent, Ewan specialises in scientific and environmental topics, but has also written more widely on topics as diverse as sport and education itself. He was a runner up in the annual Waterstone’s poetry competition and the Wildlife Magazine poetry competition, and winner of the Reading University Children’s Poetry prize.
Ewan has also been responsible for the development and writing (and sometimes illustration) of a number of educational packs on environmental education, including an environmental education manual, written with Dr Chris Gayford of The University of Reading, for the Government of The Cameroon. He also devised and co-wrote ‘The Kodak Conservation Awards’ and a number of other environmental award schemes and competitions for young people.
He is currently writing a novel, but keeps stopping to draw things.
